Satellite imagery dated 30 October 2024 shows a Russian Udaloy-class destroyer moored at Dunai Port, Primorsky Krai, Russia. Separate satellite imagery indicates that this destroyer arrived at Dunai Port after 25 October and departed by at least 4 November 2024. Concurrently, these docks were being used for the transfer of North Korean Armed Forces personnel to Russia in support of its war in Ukraine. The Tapir-class landing ship ‘Nikolai Vilkov’ was observed at this location on 17 and 20 October, followed by a Ropucha-class landing ship on 30 November 2024. It is assessed that North Korean troops boarded both ships during night-time hours to avoid satellite detection before being transported to Dunai Port. Onward travel then took the soldiers to Russian bases for pre-deployment training.
